More Than Basic

The complete renovation and modernization of a beautiful 1906 Jugendstil building compromising of 3 characterful apartments and wonderful garden to the south.

The work involved a complete transformation of the apartments with the simple addition of 2 contemporary elements consisting of a kitchen and large shower.

During the work it became a “more than basic” ethos, doing the most with a limited budget, updating fittings only where necessary and finding a few special moments to make it a little more than standard. This involves being very specific, through close observations and constant reconsideration,  a delicate balance is searched for between old and new.
